Get paid to post on forums

Did you know that people will pay you to post on their forum? You will not get rich doing this kind of work but it's fun and you will make a few extra bucks a month. I have made up to $50 a month just for posting on forums I would've posted on anyway. I would stay away from forums that offer to pay pennies per post. You'll never make any money and it'll be a waste of time. Places like mylot.com are really a waste of time (if you are there to make money).
The best way to find forum posting jobs is to browse work at home forums (look through the moms who write or telecommuting boards). Moms with new forums are always looking for people to help get their forum started. That's how I've found my forum jobs. Some will keep you on for months at a time with a monthly payment of $25-$40, while others will pay a flat fee ($1 for every post or $30 for 100 posts).
You can also post on WAHM forums asking if anyone needs a paid forum poster. Make sure to ask the forum owner to contact you directly (private message). You don't want the competition getting your work! I don't mind sharing work with the competition but I want to get a job too (as you would I am sure). If there's extra work, I pass on the info to my fellow WAHM's.

Broken computer...Now What?

My computer crashed so I have been unable to blog or work for the past month or so. It has been frustrating. I am looking forward to getting my computer fixed after Christmas. My husband is our computer fixer but he is out of town so I will have to have lots of patience.
I have had to give up a few small online jobs because of my computer problem but I am not going to give up. Once my computer is up and running, I'll be job hunting again and sharing my experiences with you.

Work For Google posting Ads

I almost fell for this one. I am posting this to warn you that THIS IS A SCAM!
I am usually really good at detecting scams. If a job requires you to pay a fee, then it's most likely a scam.
What got my attention was that it was GOOGLE that was offering this job. My husband found an article that mentioned that Google was hiring people who wanted to work at home posting ads. All you had to do was sent 1.97 for a kit (this was supposedly Googles ways of weeding out people who weren't serious). Once you get your kit, you can start working. The best part is you can earn up to $2000 a month or more depending on how many hours you worked.
I admit I fell for it. I fell hard! But I like to do research before I spend money so I posted the job on a forum that I frequent and asked if it was legit. I got two replies and both people said it was a scam. I did a little research and found out that, that was just what it was. A BIG FAT SCAM! If you read the small print, you'll see that there is another fee. A month fee. The monthly fee varies (different people posting this ads are asking for different fee's) so the month fee could be anywhere from $47- $75 A MONTH!
Google isn't hiring. It's someone else. I dont' know who. I am going to look into it some more but I wanted to get this out now before anybody else gets scammed. Supposedly Google is looking into this but it's isn't their #1 priority. Hmmm I wonder why? Could it be that they are actually benefiting from this? I think so.
Please, please be careful and research every job offer that comes your way. It's better to spend a few hours researching these jobs than losing a few hundred dollars (or more). I am so glad I did!

Here's an article about the scam:

Work At Home: CloudCrowd

I found another little job. It's called Cloudcrowd and it's supposed to be a lot like MTurk. You get paid to do things like:

Finding Websites for Non-US Companies
Reviewing Websites
Editing Paragraphs
Grade Written Text

The pay isn't great (you get paid anywhere from .01-2.00 per project) but it is supposedly really easy work and you get paid the next day via Paypal. I am not sure this is the work for me but I'm going to give it a try. I logged on a few minutes ago but there was no work available. I'll give it another try later today and I'll post more info later.

I know that you do have to have a facebook account to work for CloudCrowd. I made the mistake of signing up under my personal facebook account. I should have opened a new facebook account just for this job. I haven't figured out how to cancel my current CloudCrowd accout yet but when I do I am going to create a new account for this job. That way it won't get mixed up with my personal stuff.

If you refer people, you also get a percentage of what they earn. I'm not sure how much yet but I'll post an update as soon as I figure all this out. Please click on the link if you want to sign up!

Transcription: Quicktate

Several months ago, I applied at Quicktate. I've heard so much about this company so I applied but never heard back until yesterday. Yay! I haven't gotten the job yet. They sent an email listing all the things I need to do before I can work for them (send in resume, take test, create yahoo messenger account, etc.). If everything is done to their satisfaction, I'll hopefully get the job.

For those of you who haven't heard of Quicktate, it's a transcription company. They hire people to transcribe voicemail, memos, and letters.
You don't need to have experience to get the job.

Here is a list of requirements:
1. Accurate spelling and punctuation.
2. Typists that know how to follow instructions.
3. Typists that can listen to voice files and accurately type what they hear.
4. Speed. You don't have to be the fastest typist, but you can't be too slow either.
5. Honesty, integrity and reliability.

According to the email, they pay .0025 per word. You work when you want. I have heard that the voicemails are sporadic and it's really just a filler job. On average, people make about $50 per month.

If you're interested in working for Quicktate, you can apply here.

Work At Home:Calling In Sick

One of the best things about being a work at home mom is that when you're sick you don't have to call in sick. You don't have to beg the boss for a day off. You don't have to show proof that you spent the day at the doctor's office. You don't have to get permission from anybody but yourself. How great is that? I've been sick for the past week so I've been taking a lot of sick days.

Since I've been laying in bed with not much too do (I don't have the energy to sit up and work. I get nauseated) so I've been thinking about what I need to do with my life. Working at home is great but I'd like to do more. Start my own business. Do something for myself. And so I've decided to start my own business. It's something I've wanted to do for a long time but I've always put it off. I am working for myself right now but it's a lot of little jobs here and there. I'm making decent money but it's not about the money. It's more about doing something for myself.
I signed up for some online classes and will be working toward my goal (more on that later).
For now, I think I'd better take a little nap because I'm started to feel nauseated.

Working and studying

I have been busy getting ready to take my real estate licensing exam. I figure I can do this job while working from home. And I love that I can work when I want (or when the client wants).
I think the hardest thing about working from home and taking home study courses is figuring out how to manage your time. I finally set up a schedule and have been trying to follow it but other stuff always comes up. It's hard to stay focused while working or studying from home.
What do you all do to stay focused?
